Seeking to live justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God.
Scripture for Sunday: Matt: 10:1-15
Whatever town or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you leave. As you enter the house, greet it. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
The next Mountainside workday is coming up on Friday, June 16th, 9:00 am-1:00 pm! This workday is where we keep the kids’ rooms in shape, and we’ll be doing some Green Space and Sanctuary work as well. Give whatever time you have! Childcare will be available!

A favorite part of Mountainside life has been vocation groups–these are dinner groups with 8-12 people journeying with each other for a season, as we discover what God is up to among us in the contexts of our life stories, what we do for work, and the life of the church. All are welcome to join a group, no matter what stage of life or transition(s) in which you may find yourself.
Women’s Group – Next gathering: July 8th 9:30 am to 12:00 pm.
Location: The Mooney’s Home, 627 Park Rose, Monrovia, 91016
Saint for Focus: Josephine Bakhita of Sudan
Women of all stages of life are welcome to join us as we focus on a different female saint, engaging in various practices of prayer, eating, singing, and story-telling that recall their particular way of life. If you are interested in joining us or have any questions, contact Naomi (email@example.com) or Misty (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Thank You Note from Islamic Center of Arcadia

We were touched by your kind words. Your support, thoughts, and prayers are much appreciated. Thank you for thinking of us and reaching out.
With love & appreciation,
Welcome Bags for Family Promise
On Sunday 6/11, the confirmation students will be packing welcome bags for new residents of Family Promise, a local family homeless shelter. If you are able to purchase any of the items on the attached list, please bring them to church by Sunday 6/11 and we will pack them.
THIS FRIDAY JUNE 9
POOL PARTY–6:00-9:00 PM
LOCATION: Monrovia Tennis Club
Bring $5 to cover food, a swim suit and towel
Students are welcome to invite a friend! Mentors and volunteer leaders are welcome.
RSVP to Ari Smith, email@example.com with the number of students attending and any food restrictions.
ALSO: Our rising 5th graders are welcome to join for these summer gatherings as a way to build relationships and begin to get excited about joining Confirmation in the fall. They will remain in Godly Play on Sunday mornings until our transition Sunday August 20 at the start of the new school/ministry year, but these monthly gatherings are a great way to begin the transition!
NOTE: We are taking a break from 2/4/6 Sunday night gatherings for June-July and will resume in late August. THANKS TO THE INCREDIBLE TEAM who led these so faithfully all year!
On Friday, June 30th, join us for a night of games. Come to the Samuelian’s house at 8:00 pm prepared for fun! An RSVP to Janeen (626-646-7927) would be great (but not required) so we can be sure to set up enough tables. We’ll have some snacks and drinks to share. Feel free to just show up or add to the snack pile.
Farewell Gift for the Keens
The Keens are moving to San Diego! Please help us send them off well by writing a note, drawing a picture, or creating something visual that they can remember you by. All notes/artwork should be on 8×11″ paper that will be inserted into a notebook. You can also work on your note/picture during Sunday morning service in the prayer candle area. You can give your page to Naomi Yokota during church or mail it to her at 801 North Summit Ave, Pasadena, Ca 91103 through the end of June.
Maria is a single mom with three children that is connected to our community. She desperately needs to find some work so she can find housing and get on her feet. She is willing to help with childcare or housecleaning. Please contact Jordan Boldt at 626-633-6416 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you or someone you know could use this type of help!
Summer Beach Fun
Join in on the summer fun! Several Mountainside families will kick off the summer and celebrate the end of school on Friday June 9th. We’ll meet at Seal Beach, one lifeguard tower north of the pier. We’ll have a standing beach day each Friday throughout the summer (with some Sat/Sun dates TBA). Feel free to reach out to Janeen Samuelian with questions 626.646.7927
